There’s nothing really wrong with this movie, except for the feeling that we’ve been here before and no one really had anything all that new to say in this one. Pixar has proven with the Toy Story trilogy that it’s perfectly possible to make good sequels, but I had the feeling with this one and Cars 2 that it was all done to cash in on a brand name. There’s not really anything wrong with that, either … but Pixar has set such a high standard for animation that it saddens me a little to see them going down this road. Now we have to get ready for Finding Dory, which I don’t expect to be as good as Nemo. Oh, well. I could do worse than get another dose of Ellen DeGeneres as the memory-challenged blue tang.
